STEM Center USA has launched the branch in India as STEM CENTER INDIA @ CHENNAI, BANGALORE, MADURAI, COIMBATORE & DINDIGUL which offers Robotics & STEM in-school & after-school programs and special camps in schools and in our center.We provide students with an experiential education that excites, engages, and enriches through a unique, learn-by-doing curriculum. In our introductory program, students will learn to build, design, and program their own robots.We have age appropriate hands-on robotics programs for all K-12 students.

What is STEM?STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. According to the United States National Research Council and the National Science Foundation, STEM fields are collectively considered core technological underpinnings of an advanced society. The term STEM is increasingly used in the context of a nation’s economic competitiveness. Thus, STEM education not only addresses the demand for scientists and engineers, but also is a key component of responsible, global citizenship.
To be competitive in the global economy, to pursue an aggressive yet sustainable development, STEM Center USA prepares our younger generation to embrace creativity, invention and innovation. STEM is the engine that can power this growth. STEM education begins in early childhood when children are curious and creative and continues through college. All children, regardless of gender, race, ethnicity, or learning style, can excel in STEM disciplines and can aspire to STEM careers. Effective teaching at all levels utilizes hands-on, minds-on inquiry into the natural world. STEM Center USA offers comprehensive STEM education for P-16 market (preschool through college) using a Guided Discovery Approach.
We believe that true learning takes place when a student has an opportunity to discover on their own through a hands-on, experiential, learning model. By allowing children to be involved in a learning process that excites, energizes, engages and enriches them to a wide variety of skills and concepts, they will discover a path that will enable them to have a more productive education.
Our STEM education program has been the culmination of more than 20 years of research and application experience by Dr.Jawa, Professor of Mechanical Engineering at California State Polytechnic University (Cal Poly Pomona), Pomona in California, U.S. Dr.Jawa has been developing and implementing engaging STEM activities since 1993 in Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey and California. Since joining Cal Poly Pomona, Dr.Jawa founded the well-known Robot Rally initiative, which has become a National Model and being adopted in various countries including India and China.
Pedagogy - Guided DiscoveryWe have developed a Guided Discovery Approach to teach STEM through Robotics. Without guided discovery, teaching STEM concepts and even robotics has become routine and boring. Our Guided Discovery Approach creates significant learning experiences that are personally meaningful.
Guided Discovery is an effective approach that provides an excellent framework for learn-by-doing. Guided Discovery utilizes an authentic context in which the problems are presented in certain sequence and choices that enables the learner to reach an outcome. Learning occurs as the user goes through various scenarios and is guided to discover principles and develop critical competencies. Information and reference modules are presented in context when required or requested. Mistakes can be made, and the resulting scenario will allow the user to make decisions. Learning still occurs if a user takes a wrong path all the way through. Thus, learning becomes an experience and not blindly following a set of rules or learning by rote. With Guided Discovery Approach, making mistakes are an integral part of the learning process.
In guided discovery there is an appropriate level of guidance that allows students to experience virtually all the characteristics of pure discovery and it happens within realistic time frames. We have implemented a well thought out guided discovery approach that is seemingly unstructured and chaotic but internally well-structured and logical. Our guided discovery approach allows students to personalize the concepts. In a nutshell, we allow the students to reinvent.
